It's time. Finally. Time to luxuriate in unscheduled, unscripted time. When I find myself in this blessed state, I often pick up a French book I'd had my eye on, but had squirreled away for a quieter moment. I leaf longingly through the pages, and recall the things I love about French writers: their ironic humor, their evocation of the depth of every moment in life with such precision, the lingering feeling that language is something to be imbibed thoughtfully, like a newly discovered wine.
